Institute for Higher Education Policy: Benchmarks for Success
The National Education Association (NEA) and Blackboard Inc. have developed an important,
research-driven list of quality benchmarks for distance learning in higher education. The
list of 24 quality measures is the centerpiece of "Quality On the Line" -- an Institute for
Higher Education Policy study commissioned by NEA and Blackboard Inc.

LUMEN: Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine
LUMEN is designed to network medical education on the WWW. The site has sections for
undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education. The user can retrieve content
through search engines for the curriculum, multimedia, and lesson databases.

MEDCAL: Registration and Evaluation Database of Educational Software
A database of educational software in medicine, odontology and veterinary medicine
developed and maintained by the Swedish Council for the Renewal of Higher Education.
The database is growing and is searchable by keyword, subject and text fields.

NetNote: Internet Interface for Writing Clinical Notes
Developed for medical students, NetNote is an H&P learning/writing application. It presents
a template for H&P, along with active checklists of over 3,500 findings. Students can
check off findings to be added to the text note. Findings are linked to a database for
further information about findings with which they are unfamiliar. Runs only on Internet
